Minor Accounts (U16's)

Whether it be opening an account for your new baby or getting your school going child to start saving, having a credit union account is one of the most practical things that you/they can do for their future. You never know, they might need that loan for college down the road!

We have a standing order facility that makes saving easy and before you know it your child's savings will have accumulated into a nice lump sum for their future financial needs.

There is no age restriction to becoming a member of a credit union, as long as the applicant meets the Common Bond criteria i.e. living or working within a ten mile radius.

However, if a member is under 16, they do not have the right to:

  1. Vote
  2. Nominate property
  3. Become a member of the Board or a member of any committee
